Have you ever wondered what will happen to you when you die? The answer to this question is centered around having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
The Bible tells us:
1. God loves you and has a plan for your life.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
2. We have all done something wrong in our lives; this wrong is called sin.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)
Our sins separate us from God. No matter how much we try, we can never reach God's perfection.
3. There are consequences for our sins.
"For the wages of sin is death..." (Romans 6:23a)
"Wages" means "payment" The payment for our sin is being separated from God forever in a terrible place called Hell. Because our sin, none of us can make it into Heaven alone.
4. God provided a solution through Jesus Christ.
"... but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23b)
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).
Jesus Christ came to earth as God in the flesh, lived a perfect life, and then voluntarily died on a cross because He loves you. On that cross, He paid the punishment for all of our sins. He took our blame and punished Himself for our wrong-doings. This is God's gift to all of mankind.
5. You must place your full trust in Jesus Christ alone to save you from your sins.
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:9,10) Believing is not simply agreeing with a list of facts about Jesus or even believing that he is the Savior of the world. Believing is when you put your faith and dependency for salvation in Christ ALONE. Are you ready to acknowledge that there is absolutely nothing that you can do to save yourself and that without Christ, you will face an eternity of punishment in Hell?
Right now, you too can place your trust in Jesus Christ
In your heart, call out to the Lord. Tell Him that you know that you are a sinner, and that you are now trusting in Jesus' shed blood and resurrection from the dead as your only hope for forgiveness. If you will believe in Christ, He will forgive your sins, make you His child, and give you a home in heaven.
